How to Choose the Right Pigment for PMU: Simplifying CI Numbers
Each brand has a different CI number, and it's overwhelming to choose the right pigment. I'm going to share some tips with you to easily identify the pigment formula. First, look at the state of the pigment, whether it's liquid or creamy. Liquid pigments are suitable for machine use, while creamy ones are suitable for manual operation. Second, look at the CI number on the bottle, or you can ask us for the MSDS of each color. If all the numbers start with 77, it indicates that it's an inorganic pigment. Except for 77266, which is carbon black, others that start with 1, 2, 5 are organic, also known as synthetic pigments. Third, within the inorganic formula, CI number 77499 for black is called iron oxide pigment, and CI number 77266 for black is called mineral pigment. What about the HYBRID formula? It's actually a mix of inorganic pigment 77491 and carbon black. Fourth, for manual use, iron oxide inorganic and hybrid cream are preferred. For machine use, organic, mineral, and hybrid liquid are suitable. At the end of the video, I've prepared a CI card for you. Just send me a private message to receive it. I'm Gabby, sharing knowledge about PMU. See you in the next video.
A CI number, also known as a Color Index number, is a unique identifier assigned to dyes, pigments, and other coloring agents used in permanent makeup. It ensures consistency and accuracy in identifying these substances, facilitating communication and transactions within the industry.
